Cape Ann Time Bank’s Service Concern Policy

The purpose of the Cape Ann Time Bank is to enhance and build community by supporting people through the exchange of services.  It does this by observing the strengths and integrity of each individual and how s/he contributes in a unique way
to the whole of the community.

We achieve these goals by creating mutual respect, exchanging services that are useful, comfortable and fun in a safe environment free from any physical, sexual or emotional harm.  Any member has the right to refuse or to discontinue a service if s/he feels uncomfortable or it is not a good match.

If you feel that an emotional, physical or sexual* boundary has been crossed during an exchange, please contact any member of the Leadership team (names and contact info) who will then bring the issue to the Leadership team.  Following an information-gathering process, the team will decide on a course of action.

*A sexual boundary violation involves bringing a sexual element into the exchange of the service or into the relationship between the giver and the receiver. This can include several levels from flirting to inappropriate touching or taking sexual advantage.  In the case of body work, the client’s consent must be given for working close to a client’s breasts or genitals.
